Logos can be a form of communicating your identity to those around you.
Global Context: Identities and Relationships
T-Shirts have long been a platform for youth expression of individuality and identity. Create a T-shirt logo or design that represents you. It will be printed onto a T-shirt and exhibited through a fashion parade.

STAGE A: Inquiring and Analysing
Design Context
1. Explain what your problem is and how you plan on solving it. (say what you've been asked to do and why?)
2. Identity Profile: You need to write about yourself, because you are the client.
Research Plan
3. We will write some important research questions together as a class. What do you need to know about logos?
Research on Existing Logos
You need to use ‘RefMe’ when you begin your research to start making your bibliography.
4. Collect examples of good logo designs. Use the MINDMAP to help you.
5. From the logos you have collected, annotate a minimum of 4 logos (Use your mindmap ideas).

6. You need to copy and paste your bibliography from ‘RefMe’.

- Where are you from? What are the initials of your name?
- What things do you like? (eg. hobbies, colours, shapes, objects, songs, animals, places, people etc)
- What is important for you to include in your logo to represent your identity? (eg. symbols, colours etc)

- What makes a good logo? How many colours should I use? etc.

Success Criteria
1. Write a checklist of all the things you want your logo to have/do. (use the table to help you)
Range of Ideas
2. Draw between 5 and 10 designs based on your ideas.
Chosen Design
3. From these designs, choose 3 logos and explain why they are your best drawings. What is your best??
4. Choose the final design that you want to create in Photoshop. Explain your reasons for choosing this design.
5. Do a neat drawing of your chosen logo. Show details of your design - such as the colour and tools you will use.

STAGE C: Creating the solution
Plan
1. You need to plan how you are going to create your logo in Photoshop.
Create your solution
2. Display your best skills to make your logo.
3. Take screenshots to show your progress and enter into the screenshots column of your Plan table.
4. On your print-out of the plan, follow and check off completed steps.

1. You need to plan how you are going to create your logo in Photoshop.
- Use your final design you have chosen to follow.
- Fill in the PLAN table with all the steps you will go through to create your chosen logo in Photoshop.
- Try to make it detailed so someone else would able to follow.
- Print your plan
Create your solution
2. Display your best skills to make your logo.
3. Take screenshots to show your progress and enter into the screenshots column of your Plan table.
4. On your print-out of the plan, follow and check off completed steps.
- You need to ANNOTATE your original plan (write on an changes to your steps example: adding steps, changing the order or time, adding more resources)

STAGE D: Evaluation
Testing
1. Design a simple test that measures your success criteria. Turn the success criteria into questions.
2. Get feedback from at least 8 people.

3. Use the feedback AND your own reflection, EXPLAIN what your logo design’s strengths and weaknesses were.
Improvements
4. Explain HOW your logo design could have been improved. What would make it better??
- (Say WHAT you would change, WHY you would change it and HOW you would change it)
Impact on yourself
5. Write a paragraph explaining what you have learnt about yourself by making the t-shirt logo.

6. Make sure you include your full bibliography. Copy and paste it from RefMe.
