stage A - Inquiring & Analysing
Kites in Culture
1. Find out about the importance of kites to different cultures. Include a picture and a short explanation of the significance of kites in 2 different cultures.
Different types of kites
2. Choose 2 types of kites to investigate. Show pictures and have a short description of each type.
What helps a kite to fly?
3. Explain your answer the 3 research questions given and show the sources of your information.
Bibliography
4. Use 'RefMe' to enter all your sources and create your bibliography.
EXTENSION TASK:
- Create a timeline to show at least 8 main events in aviation (flight) history.
- Your timeline can be in any form you like (document, slides, online timeline generator on laptop/iPad, etc.)

STAGE D - Evaluating
Testing - how well did your kite fly?
1. In a small group (2-3) help each other fly your kites. Video your kites flying so you can evaluate back at school.
Evaluate the results
2. Outline how successful your kite is against the kite specifications. Explain what your kite's strengths and weaknesses were.
Improvements
3. Explain how your kite could have been improved. What could have made it fly better? Would a different design be better?
Impact on yourself
4. Write a paragraph explaining what you have learnt about yourself by making your kite.
